Herb Society of America, CT Unit Annual Herb Symposium, Lunch & Sale

The Herb Society of America, Connecticut Unit will hold its Annual Herb Symposium, Lunch and Sale on May 30 at the Pond House Cafe from 9:30 am to 2 pm

    Lemon Herbs: To Know, Grow and Savor, is the subject of the Connecticut Unit’s annual Symposium Thursday, May 30 in the elegant Pond House at Elizabeth Park, 1555 Asylum Ave, West Hartford.

     The event includes a talk on the cultivation and use of a wide selection of lemon herbs, including out-of-the-ordinary ones. The making of lemon verbena liqueur will be discussed accompanied by a tasting, and there will be a demonstration on various ways to plant rectangular zinc planters.

     The planters, the lemon herbs and a plethora of special herbal foods, products and decor, all made by the Unit, will be for sale in the Herbal Cottage Boutique. Brimming raffle baskets will be available as well.

     A gourmet herbal luncheon, prepared by Chef Louis Lista of the Pond House, will be served.

    The Symposium starts at 9:30 a.m. and concludes around 2 p.m. Cost is $60. Send check (payable to HSA-CT Unit) by May 20 to: Doreen Fundiller-Zweig, 29 Fulton Place, West Hartford, CT 06107.
