Rose Weekend

The Elizabeth Park Conservancy invites you to Rose Weekend 2019, June 15-16! Featuring thousands of rose bushes and arches in bloom; Bonsai Society of Greater Hartford Show and Sale; poetry readings; “Painters in the Park;” Rose Garden tours; community, cultural and arts organizations under the tent; and a scavenger hunt for the whole family. 

    SATURDAY JUNE 15

    • Bonsai Society of Greater Hartford 38th Annual Show, Demo & Sale - Big Greenhouse (10 am to 4 pm). Member trees on display, bonsai technique demonstrations, bonsai trees and supplies for sale.
    • Painters in the Park (10 am to 4 pm)
    • Conservancy Tulip Bulb Sale (10 am to 4 pm)

    POETRY IN THE PARK -  Rose Garden Lawn, Under the Tent                          

    • Frederick-Douglass Knowles, Hartford Poet Laureate  (11:30 to 11:45 am)
    • John Stanizzi (11:45 am to 12 noon)
    • CT Coalition of Poets Laureate Ginny Connors (12 to 1 pm)
    • Two CT Poets sponsored by the Friends and Enemies of Wallace Stevens (1 to 2:30 pm)
    • West Hartford Poet Laureate Julie Choffel (2:30 to 3 pm)
    • Rose Garden Tour by Stephen Scanniello  (1:30 pm)
