Herb Society of America, CT Unit Annual Symposium: "Back to Basils"

The Connecticut Unit of The Herb Society of America invites you to "Back to Basils," the Unit's annual symposium, Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at the Pond House Cafe in Elizabeth Park. We'll cook with basil, learn about basil and even drink basil.

The event features a cooking demonstration by Kathy Oberman Tracy, past Martha Stewart TV producer and private chef and caterer to Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward. Also, a talk about unusual basils and their uses by Kathy Donohue and a third presentation about shrubs and bitters by Nana Garrett, accompanied by a basil watermelon shrub drink for all.

A special basil-based lunch will be served by the award-winning Pond House Café, and the unit’s Herbal Cottage will be filled with unique herbal gifts including a wide variety of basil plants—both common and unfamiliar.

In addition, there will be a raffle of sumptuous, gift-filled baskets and other herbal surprises.

To reserve your place at the symposium, please send a check for $60 made out to the HSA – Connecticut Unit and mail to Doreen Fundiller-Zweig, 29 Fulton Place, West Hartford, CT 06107. Please include your contact information.

If you would like to join our symposium mailing list, send an email to Doreen, fundizweig@comcast.net.
