Exploring Hartford History

You can’t spell History without “story”.

Join us to hear about the many stories that make Hartford and Elizabeth Park so special.

The Connecticut Museum of Culture and History and the Elizabeth Park Conservancy are teaming up to host a special day to explore history in Hartford. This begins with a history tour of Elizabeth Park at 10:00 am and will include the 1904 Helen S Kaman Rose Garden. After the tour, drive or walk over to the Connecticut Museum of History for a box lunch and beverages. Then tour the Museum’s special exhibition, Drawn Here: Stories From Hartford’s North End at your leisure after a welcome and presentation about the Museum’s Tavern Signs collection with Natalie Belanger.

David Wilson, former director of the Elizabeth Park Conservancy; Christine Doty, its current President & CEO; and Natalie Belanger, Public Programs Manager at the Connecticut Museum of History, will take you back in time to the early days of Hartford and this very special park.
