Rosarian Stephen Scanniello is a world-renowned gardener, historian, author, lecturer, designer, and consultant for gardens public and private. He currently serves as curator of the internationally acclaimed Peggy Rockefeller Rose Garden at the New York Botanical Garden, and as consultant and rosarian for the Helen S Kaman Rose Garden at Elizabeth Park.
Stephen’s book A Rose by Any Name, co-authored with Douglas Brenner, relates the stories behind the names of many roses. A Year of Roses, revised and reissued in 2006, teaches how to choose, order, plant, protect, and maintain your roses. Also included are significant historical facts, personal anecdotes, and detailed line drawings.
